You know how we look at those pictures of celebrities in awe whenever they pull off a pairing of dress that is daring yet eclectic? We decided we can do a bit of daring pairing ourselves without looking too over the top. And what better time than this festive season to amp up your styling drama!
Today we have picked five pairings for you – both saree and blouse that usually don’t come together as per the norms. But this season, all rules will be broken. The only thing that will remain is the suave and stylish you.
- A song of ice and fire
The uber cool blue off the saree is astounding on its own. But isn’t common to pair it with a muted blouse? Since we are all in for some bold mixing, we paired her with a spring inspired yellow blouse to add a little zing. The warmth of fire yellow with the coolness of the blue ice complements yet strikes a bold pose.
Work with colors from different seasons to create a zing in your pairing.
2. Jingle bells jingle bells, purple all the way
While this is not mixed and match, this is another fun way of quirking up a saree. Going monochrome. The rich purple with a band of gold on its own is gorgeous, and it is only fair to play it safe with a contrast blouse. But, if we take it up a notch with a quirky polka inspired purple blouse, the whole look changes. Adding a fun element to a traditional attire is always a weak spot for us, and this combination has made its way to our favorites.
Sometimes, pairing saree and the blouse of the same color brings out the richness of the saree if there is a bit of drama going on in the blouse.
3. Sunny side up
Taking inspiration from the cycle of life, we have paired the sunny shade with night tones of black and moon white. The gorgeous gold embroidery overprinted black blouse adds oodles of fierce to the look. If you were to add bold jewelry, there would be no stopping you from being the center of attraction.
Work with a muted color saree and amp it up with bold prints and embroidery to recreate the look.
4. Color color what color do you choose?
This is the season of colors, the time for grandeur, the perfect place for a little attitude. Going by the Indian tradition, there is no such thing as too many colors. Hence, we decided to pair a saree that already has three colors with a blouse that is different and far away from the color scheme. This pairing allows you to play with different colors at the same time without any concern for matching.
A quick tip is to ensure that the colors are not clashing to avoid fashion faux pas.
5. Kala chashma
We have simply taken a usual pairing and elevated the style like the song Kala Chashma. Simply rework on the design of blouse regarding sleeve length or alter the height of the blouse to fit like a corset and the whole look of the saree changes. A plain muted saree with a dramatic blouse gives enough energy to this festive season.
We had a lot of fun pairing these unusual combinations. Tell us which of these is your favorite and also share your picture for us to get more inspiration. Stay colorful and stay fashion forward!
